Subject: Opening the June 2015 Meeting

Lockwood Internet Base June, 2015 On-Line Meeting

“Doing What Must Be Done”

“There are wooden ships and metal ships that sail upon the sea.
But the best ships are friendships and may they always be.”

This meeting is a discussion session open to all members of LIB. Please give us your input, suggestions, ideas.

Although our Creed is always up on the page you look at when you read this or any other post for LIB, I think it appropriate that we include it here.

USSVI Creed: To perpetuate the memory of our shipmates who gave their lives in the pursuit of their duties while serving their country. That their dedication, deeds and supreme sacrifice be a constant source of motivation toward greater accomplishments. Pledge loyalty and patriotism to the United States of America and its Constitution.

Let us not forget the men lost in service to their country in the Submarine Service. A moment of silence and in respect is in order. Boats lost: 1 June 1944, USS Herring SS-233 with a loss of 80 men, 12 June 1943, USS R-12 (SS-89) with a loss of 42 men; the CO and two men on the bridge survived as did 18 men who were ashore at the time of the accident, 14 June 1944, USS Golet SS-361 with a loss of 82 men, 18 June 1945, USS Bonefish SS-223 with a loss of 85 men, 19 June 1942, USS S-27 (SS-132) no men lost, 20 June 1941, USS o-9 (SS-70) with a loss of 34 men, 30 June 1943, USS Runner SS-275 with a loss of 78 men.

PRAYER:

John, here is the June, and final prayer.
I kept it really simple, it was hard to write.

Eternal Father,
We come before you conscious of this our last meeting.
We thank you for the many years of faithful service of so many
of our brothers not only to LIB but the Submarine Force.
Bless each one and approve their future efforts to serve
you, our nation and our brothers on eternal patrol.
Thank you for the inspiration of the leaders of LIB
over the years. Keep us all in your care, Lord,
and protect us from the Enemy's greed.
We ask this in the name that is above every other name. Amen!

Fr. Aaron

Thank you, Father.

Meeting Format:

1)Opening comment-Silence-List Lost Boats-Prayer
2)Officers Comments/Reports
4)Old Business: This is business/suggestions from previous meeting that E-Board did not handle and is being brought back to the table for voting.
5)Closing Comments by Officers
6)Closing statement

I now ask for our financial report and other reports by officers. The final meeting is now open.

Officers Comments- From the Base Commander.

This is a hard one to post. After some 15 years LIB is no more. Thanks all for the hard work, dedication, memories and good deeds.

After other officers reports and any old business the Base will be scuttled.

Comm Officer, destroy classified equipment and documents. Engineering/Weps, set the scuttling charges to go off on June 30. That's all, Folks! Best wishes to all.
